What is a postpartum doula?A postpartum doula is a professional trained to work with a new mother/family through the transition period after birth. Postpartum doula care includes (but is not limited to) light housework, meal preparation, help with breastfeeding/feeding tips and information, holding baby while mom takes a shower or bath, newborn care and soothing tips and information, overnight newborn care so parents can catch up on sleep, emotional and informational support
